We High Suggest getting this Vinyl Covers for the Nylon Straps, the Bag itself is Made of Fade and Weather Resistant Vinyl Material, however the Nylon Straps and the Buckles are Not, and will certainly show wear from the sun, getting these straps insure a much nicer and longer life of your bag.
